Ruth Iglehart, Junior Designer

Originally from the Philippines, Ruth moved to St. Petersburg, FL before receiving both a Bachelor of Design in Architecture and Master of Architecture from the University of Florida. During her time at UF, Ruth spent four years teaching undergraduate Studio Design courses alongside faculty, where she found a love of pedagogy. Some of her favorite experiences of graduate school involved engaging students in iterative design, analytical thinking and theory. While working towards her M.Arch, Ruth served as an Editor for the graduate student journal VORKURS, where her team’s decennial edition Vol X: Intersticewas awarded the 2025 Graham Foundation Grant. In her last two years at UF, Ruth’s studio projects were recipients of the 2026 AIA Florida Honor Award and Citation Award for their work in engaging fragile landscapes through the lens of time and ruin. In her free time, Ruth enjoys printmaking, pattern making and hiking trails that leave her out of breath.
